Questions

Short answers. If yours isn’t here, email support@thelevelnetwork.com and a person will reply.

Membership

  • How much does Level cost?

$1 a month, the same for everyone. There’s no free tier, no trial and no yearly price.

  • Why does Level cost money?

So you’re the customer. Free networks are paid for by advertisers, so they’re built to hold your attention and sell it. Your dollar pays for Level, so Level works for you. It also keeps out most bots and spam accounts.

  • Is there a free trial?

No. Everyone pays the same dollar, and Level has to earn it each month.

  • How do I cancel?

Wherever you joined. If you joined on iPhone, cancel in your Apple subscription settings. If you joined on the web, open Settings, then Membership, then Manage billing. You keep access until the end of the month you paid for.

  • What happens if I stop paying?

You can’t use Level until you join again. Your account and everything you posted stay exactly as you left them.

  • Can I get a refund?

Apple handles refunds for iPhone purchases. For a web purchase, email support@thelevelnetwork.com and a person will help.

  • Does one membership cover iPhone and the web?

Yes. One membership works for your account everywhere Level runs.

Your timeline

  • What does “in order” mean?

Your timeline shows posts from the people you follow in the order they were posted, each with its time. Nothing is moved up because it’s popular or hidden because it isn’t. Level remembers where you stopped, so you can catch up from there.

  • Why is there no algorithm?

An algorithm decides what you see so you’ll keep scrolling. On Level, following someone is the decision: you see what they post. If you want less of someone, mute or unfollow them.

  • How do I find people?

Search for their handle, tap a hashtag, or follow a link a friend shared. There’s no For You feed.

  • Can other people see how many followers I have?

No. Follower counts and like counts aren’t shown to anyone else. You can see who liked your own posts.

Privacy

  • Is anything on Level public?

No. Posts, photos, stories, comments and messages are for members only and never appear on the open web. A shared link shows only who posted it, with their name, handle and profile photo, and an invitation to join.

  • Who sees my posts?

If your account is public, other Level members can see your posts, and the people who follow you get them in their timeline. If it’s private, only people you approve can see them. You also choose who can comment.

  • Does Level show ads or sell my data?

No ads, ever. Level doesn’t sell or rent your data, doesn’t track you across other apps and websites, and has no advertising code inside it. The details are in the Privacy policy.

  • Are messages private?

They’re private to the people in the conversation. They aren’t end-to-end encrypted. Level doesn’t read them, except to review a report or when the law requires it.

  • Can I delete my account?

Yes, anytime, in Settings. It can’t be undone. Messages you sent stay with the people you sent them to, with your name removed.

Using Level

  • Is Level on iPhone or the web?

Both. Get the iPhone app from the App Store, or use Level in your browser at thelevelnetwork.com. Your account and membership are the same in both.

  • Is there an Android app?

No. On Android, use Level in your browser at thelevelnetwork.com. You can add it to your home screen.

  • How do I sign in?

With Apple, Google or your email. Level doesn’t use passwords: choose email and Level sends you a code. Nobody from Level will ever ask you for it.

  • I have an invite code. Where does it go?

Choose “I have an invite code” when you sign up, and enter it there.

  • How old do I need to be?

    13 or older.

The pledge

  • What is the Profit Pledge?

Level gives 10% of its monthly profit to 10 highly effective charities, 1% to each. It’s based on profit, not revenue. Read the pledge

  • Is my dollar a donation?

No. The pledge comes out of Level’s profit. Your membership pays for Level.
